I’m very focused on keeping ‘people’ at the heart of everything I do. From starting my recruitment and capability building career in London in private and public sector organisations, to working as a consultant in partnership with financial services, tech and latterly Scottish Government, my career pathway and life experiences have taught me, everything is all about ‘people’ and we all have potential to ‘do better’. I’m a huge advocate of collaborative working and how much more we can achieve by working in partnership when there are common goals and shared challenges.
My role as Co-Chair of the Race Equality Network, Scottish Government, has meant I have firsthand experience of the collective power of people who are working towards creating an environment and a culture where all can flourish.
I’ve always been intrigued with understanding what makes a ‘good leader’ and how people can enthuse and lead in a way that inspires others, achieve their business outcomes and stay true to themselves. Leaders who I have been inspired by are people at all levels that have the ability to foster an environment where people feel valued, empowered and can develop. They are people who understand the power of hearing diverse voices and bring compassion, kindness, humour, and resilience to everything they do. The positive impact this can have at all levels is so far reaching. That’s why I am so delighted to be working with the Project Lift team.
