I never cease to be inspired and excited by how people at any level in any of our organisations can step out of someone else’s expectations and be what and how they want to be. Relationships and connections are what makes everything in the world work, or not, and no clearer can we see that than here in our own Health and Social Care system in Scotland. After meeting hundreds of people at events, in teams and on a one to one basis, it’s clear to me that we have brilliant leaders at all levels, in a range of roles and communities, who are open to change, have new and thoughtful ideas and who have the spark to really want to make it happen.
The diversity of thought, experience and ambition across our wider system has given me the hope and the belief that we do have people who can make significant, real change happen. Project Lift needs to provide the space to think and connect with others and then the support, challenge and encouragement to believe it’s possible – and then prove that it is. Anyone can live their potential and everyone should have the chance to do just that.
