Wellbeing and Resilience in the Workplace – in the context of COVID-19 and beyond

This is the second of five topic-led digital conversations we are hosting over the coming months with our Community Partners, Kaleidoscope.

We have all heard so many different experiences, perspectives and stories about wellbeing over these recent times both through personal and professional connections, and it is great that wellbeing continues to be in the spotlight given how COVID19 has, and continues to affect everyone, in so many ways.  We also know leaders have a preeminent influence on culture, that is, how we experience our working environment and relationships in the workplace.  Taking care of ourselves and one another can take its toll and it’s especially important that we notice, listen and respond with kindness and compassion to ourselves and each other.

The British Psychological Society produced it’s guide for leaders and managers of health and care services to help them to respond across the different phases of the pandemic.  We hope to use this frame in our stories and conversations together to share insights and point each other to practical resources, offer support and encourage the  building of  lasting connections. It is an opportunity for us to collectively examine and make sense of important new insights generated over the last few months, as well as long-standing challenges from before the pandemic.

We will welcome:

  • Ralph Roberts, Chief Executive of NHS Borders,
  • Pat Armstrong, CEO of ACOSVO
  • Ailsa Sutherland, Group Manager, West Lothian

Together they will help to set up the conversations we have by sharing their stories of putting wellbeing at the heart of their leadership focus, what it’s been like for them and their learning during these extraordinary and challenging times.
