Agency, Power & Purpose in the context of Covid-19 & beyond

12:30 pm - 2:00 pm
This is the third of five topic-led digital conversations we are hosting over the coming months with our Community Partners, Kaleidoscope.
In this event, Project Lift invites the health and social care community to collectively explore experiences of losing or gaining agency during the pandemic and the impact this has had. We will also explore how leaders can afford the sense of ‘power’ and ‘purpose’ that comes with agency to all people in the system.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, some workers have felt they gained agency in their roles as they were afforded new responsibilities. Meanwhile, others felt they have lost some agency as the external environment takes certain responsibilities out of their control. This all has an effect on how we feel about our work.
In this event, Project Lift invites the health and social care community to share stories and insights on this issue of ‘agency’, point each other to practical resources, offer support and build lasting connections. It is a chance for us to collectively explore how leaders can afford a sense of power and purpose that comes with agency to all people in the system.
We will welcome speakers to share their perspectives on this topic:
- Edel Harris, Chief Executive Officer of Mencap
- John Loughton, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Scran Academy
- Nelson Kennedy, Associate Director of Digital & Quality Improvement and Practitioner and Counter Fraud Services in NHS National Services Scotland
